Best known for his time with the Walkmen, singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Walter Martin follows in the footsteps of master storytellers like Garrison Keillor and Randy Newman. In 2014, a year after the Walkmen announced they were going on an “extreme hiatus”, Walt released the award-winning children’s album We’re All young Together. It’s a set of songs inspired by fatherhood and the innocence and mischief of early rock & roll. The album won a Parents Choice Award, enjoyed many prominent sync placements (iPhone, Android) and featured cameos by Hamilton Leithauser, the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Karen O and members of the French Kicks. Martin returned in 2016 with Arts & Leisure, a cozy set of original songs for adults inspired by art history, architecture and his youth. On May 5th, 2017, Walt released his second children’s album called My Kinda Music and teamed up with Laura Gibson and the National’s Matt Berninger. The set features gems like “The Wishing Well”, “My Kinda Music”, “Trip on a Ship”, and “It’s A Dream (Night Version)”.
